Activision has announced that it has raised more than $1.6 million for the Los Angeles fire relief efforts through the sale of the LA Fire Relief in-game DLC for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone.

As announced previously, the funds are being donated to the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation and Direct Relief. The $1.6 million is in addition to Activision’s previous $1 million donation, which brings the company’s total donation efforts to $2.6 million.

“Thank you to the Call of Duty community for their support, which will make a real impact for those who were affected by the LA fires,” Activision said.

The LA Fire Relief DLC for Black Ops 6 and Warzone was priced at 2,400 COD Points, or about $20. This means Activision may have sold around 80,000 of the DLC packs. Activision has held previous donation efforts via in-game Call of Duty DLC packs supporting military veterans.

Multiple fires ripped through areas of Southern California in early January, torching thousands of structures and killing more than 25 people in what was California’s biggest urban wildfire event in four decades. Experts believe fires like this in populated areas may increase in time.
