Welcome to the new SemiAnandCo

Today SemiAccurate is announcing it’s largest expansion to date with the acquisition of AnandTech. With the might of the two combined entities, the new SemiAnandCo is a surefire winner.

With the papers finally signed this morning, the two formerly disparate sites are now under one roof. Industry accolades abound and no less than AnandTech’s founder Anand Shimpi was effusive in his praise for the deal. “Who is this? How did you get my number? I haven’t been associated with them for years!” he gushed. Former writer Ian Cutress likewise said, “Do you know what time it is over here?”, then promptly hung up with joy. When asked about the merger, Paul Alcorn, Managing Editor at Tom’s Hardware, also owned by Future, was a bit more direct. In his laconic way, Paul shifted his weight, looked up, scratched his, umm, lower back, and went back to work.

Happiness is a surprised Anand!

Praise from the industry has been similarly positive. An Intel spokesman said, “What? Why should we care?”, and AMD’s response was, “Huh?”. ARM went in to much more detail with their response. “We here at ARM don’t know anything about this merger and can’t really see it making a difference.” Glad to have them on our side too.

Details of the deal have not been publicly disclosed but one deep source told SemiAccurate that the cost of the acquisition could reach $8 if all of the AnandTech assets are included. In light of this, most analysts agree that the price may be high, but the synergies will more than make up for it in short order. Several expect positive net cash flows from the combined entities to take place by 3:28pm EST this afternoon, assuming lunch doesn’t go long. Onwards and upwards!S|A
