Earth Day announcement spotlights eco-friendly badging, on-site recycling, and carbon-conscious practices across the company.

Bluffdale, UT – April 22, 2025 – Today, in honor of Earth Day, Stova is proud to launch its most comprehensive environmental sustainability initiative to date, aimed at helping event organizers reduce their carbon footprint while delivering exceptional experiences.

From eco-friendly badges to recycling programs and carbon-conscious policies, Stova is making sustainability a core part of its offerings and operations.

“Our clients and partners care deeply about creating more sustainable events, and so do we,” said Kirk Ziehm, CEO at Stova.

“We’re proud to lead with innovative solutions that reduce waste while delivering on great quality, speed, and design,” added Anupam Palit, President & CFO at Stova.

The cornerstone of the initiative is Stova’s Sustainable Badging Solution, which includes:

  • Bio-degradable cards that break down naturally, leaving no harmful toxins
  • Badges made from 100% recycled PVC
  • FSC-certified plastic-free wood fiber cards
  • Recyclable FSC-certified paper badges compatible with on-demand printing
  • Onsite badge recycling allowing all badge types — including those with NFC chips — to be collected and processed responsibly

In addition to providing its clients and partners with new and innovative solutions, Stova is renewing its own internal commitment to sustainability through several environmentally responsible practices, including:

  • Using only recycled or biodegradable lead retrieval device-bags and lanyards
  • Recycling used ink and ribbon cartridges from client event sites through manufacturer programs
  • Implementing return-to-Stova badge collection programs whereby, if onsite recycling cannot be accommodated, badges can be returned to, and recycled from, Stova’s facilities
  • Developing internal policies that prioritize lower-carbon travel options
  • Working with the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) to define Stova’s long-term carbon reduction commitments

A Leadership Position in Event Sustainability

As the events industry rises to the sustainability challenge, Stova is taking bold steps to lead by example.

“Our goal is to empower clients by providing them with sustainable solutions that lighten their carbon footprint without compromising the event experience,” said Palit. “It’s about smarter solutions that respect the planet and drive event success for all stakeholders.”
