The Unofficial Google Play eReader, Redesigned

The Boox Palma 2 Pro looks to do something not many books nor current eReader do, fit comfortably in your pocket.  The 6.13″ colour E Ink Kaleido display and body, which is 8.8 mm deep and 175 g in weight isn’t going to manage to squeeze into every pocket but it is more likely to slip in than a Kindle, Nook or Kobo.  The eInk display of the Palma 2 Pro is 824 × 1648 in monochrome; that resolution is cut in half when displaying colour to a less impressive 412 × 824.  It also ships with a SIM card slot, not to make calls but instead to let you access 5G data when you are away from WiFi.

The Palma 2 Pro will ship with Android 15, but as with many eReaders you may be stuck there for quite a while as these devices don’t have the same update cycle as smartphones do.  Palma have provided a way to install Google Play on the Palma 2 Pro as well, so you will be able to do more than just carry books in just about any format around, if you are so inclined.
