LowKick Games announced today that its web3 MMORPG WorldShards has generated over $6.2 million in marketplace sales in its first year. According to the developer, it has done this through a strategic partnership with web3 gaming platform Open Loot, which it entered into in February 2023. LowKick also claims to have achieved these sales without the benefit of marketing.

WorldShards is an open-world sandbox MMORPG set in Murrlandia, following an in-game narrative while offering a “levelless” progression system as well as a built-in system for collecting and NFTs to “enhance in-game player experiences.”

The game had its first NFT sale one year ago, generating $179,000 from access keys. Since then, LowKick Games says the game has generated about $5.2 million in NFT sales, and $1.1 million in premium currency.
